Swindoll wrote a book about grace, joy, singleness, and “embracing the whole world” in , after her brother Chuck introduced her to an editor from Multnomah Books . The Way of GraceThe third book in the Miller’s Creek series, works well as a standalone book as well. I have to qualify my review by stating that I don’t read very many romance books, even so called Christian romance books, simply because as a single Christian woman reading romances tends to turn my eyes to what is lacking in my life/5().

Bayly's book is wise, hard-hitting and the timeliest book I've read in years. His basic point is that the church has failed homosexuals by muffling our witness about sexual evil in two ways. First, we have allowed (and often encouraged) worldliness to seep into the church in Reviews: Old and New Testaments of the Christian Bible "Grace" is the English translation of the Greek χάρις (charis) meaning "that which brings delight, joy, happiness, or good fortune."Old Testament. The Septuagint translates as χάρις the Hebrew word חֵ֖ן (ẖen) as found in Genesis to describe why God saved Noah from the flood. The Old Testament use of the word includes the concept.

Represents more than authors and more than individual works, the mission of New Hope Publishers is to provide books that challenge readers to understand and be radically involved in the mission of God. New Hope Publishers is a member of the . A THREAD OF GRACE, like THE SPARROW and CHILDREN OF GOD, is powerfully (though not didactically) imbued with a plea for cultural and religious understanding to respect what is radically different in other societies and faiths, while embracing what we have in common. The evocative title comes from a remark by Rabbi Soncini at the book's end.

Jesus calls this way “the narrow way.” “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew Entering the narrow way. It is a difficult pathway. Paul said that “all who want to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Tim ).

The broad road is easy, but the narrow way is very difficult. The narrow pathway leads to life. Though difficult, this pathway leads to life. In fact, to enter it 1/ The Narrow Way. There is no other way because He alone is “the way, the truth and the life” (John ). The way to eternal life is restricted to just one avenue—Christ. In this sense, the way is narrow because it is the only way, and relatively few people will go through the narrow gate.

Many more will attempt to find an alternative route to God. This book was my “grace” for the summer. It felt like time with a spiritual director where I would come with a question and find I’d journeyed through to a new perspective by the end of the chapter.

To confess and testify to the truth as it is in Jesus, and at the same time to love the enemies of that truth, his enemies and ours, and to love them with the infinite love of Jesus Christ, is indeed a narrow way. In Matthew it says that wide is the gate that leads to destruction, but it says that narrow is the way and some translations say hard is the path that leads to eternal life.

Why is it hard if believing on the Lord’s death as payment for our sins is the only thing we have to do. What makes the narrow path hard. The biggest question that will ever be answered is the question, “Which way to heaven?” The most important decision that anybody will ever make is the decision that they make regarding their eternal.
